New stake presidencies

Elder Joe J. Christensen of the Seventy created the Jundiai Brazil Stake, which includes the Jundiai, Jundiai Mirim, Parque Colegio, and Ponte wards, and the Atibaia, Braganca Paulista, Itupeva, and Vinhedo branches.

Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Council of the Twelve created the Ricks College 5th stake, which includes the College 2nd, College 4th, College 25th, College 27th, College 37th, College 40th, College 41st, and College 42nd wards.Elder John H. Groberg of the Seventy created the Santa Ana California South (Spanish-speaking) Stake, which includes the Anaheim 11th, Fullerton 6th, Garden Grove 10th, Laguna Niguel 3rd, Santa Ana 5th, Santa Ana 10th, Santa Ana 11th, and Santa Ana 12th wards.

Elsewhere, stakes were reorganized in Mexico, Arizona, Idaho and Utah.

RICKS COLLEGE 5TH STAKE: (Dec. 8, 1991) Created from the Ricks College 1st, Ricks College 2nd, Ricks College 3rd, and Ricks College 4th stakes. President - Ronald Brent Kinghorn, 50, community service vice president at Ricks College, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop and counselor, branch president, elders quorum president, and Young Men president, married Donna Jean Luke. Counselors - B. John Galbraith, 50, head of division of humanities at Ricks College, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, elders quorum president, gospel doctrine teacher, and Primary teacher, married Carol Bingham; Ellis Wilson Miller, 52, physics and astronomy teacher, former high councilor, bishop, high priests group leader, and Scoutmaster, married Karren Lea Malstrom.

SANTA ANA CALIFORNIA SOUTH STAKE: (Jan. 5, 1992) Created from the Anaheim California, Anaheim California East, Fullerton California, Garden Grove California, Irvine California, Laguna Niguel California, Orange California, Placentia California, and Santa Ana California stakes. President - Renan Ramos Disner, 32, life insurance agent, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, and ward Young Men president, married Evy Irene Thorkelson. Counselors - Abel Salgado, Jr., 47, financial consultant, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, branch president, and Young Adult leader, married Celia Notario; Salvador Cifuentes, 53, drill operator at machine shop, former bishop's counselor, married Olga Guillen Cifuentes.
