Church News: Deaths

Robert Graham Wade, who was a mission president in Finland from 1972-75, died of cancer Dec. 30. He was 58.

He was president of the Stockton California East Stake and the Lodi California Stake from 1977-1986. In 1992, he and his family moved to Longmont, Colo., where he was the Northern Plains Area Director for CES.Brother Wade is survived by his wife, Faye Jordan Wade, and by five daughters and four sons.

OAKLAND, CALIF.

Stella Bobbie Sorensen Hoopes, wife of Lorenzo N. Hoopes and matron of the Oakland Temple from 1985-1990, died Jan. 14. She was 83.

She and her husband were recipients of Brigham Young University's Distinguished Presidential Citation in 1990. She served with her husband when he was president of the England Bristol Mission from 1979-1982. She is survived by her husband and a son.

Funeral services were scheduled for noon Friday, Jan. 19, in Oakland. Burial will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 27, in the Brigham City (Utah) Cemetery.
