Just about every year, Public Affairs at the Oakland Temple Visitors Center hosts a fireside given by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Steve Young. We always have a great turnout at the event, held at the Interstake Center, adjacent to the Oakland Temple.
While helping people find their seats, I overheard a conversation between two women. Obviously, one was a member and the other her non-LDS friend. The former was explaining how our congregations are organized. The non-LDS woman said to the other, "Now, you have these wards?""Yes," the LDS woman answered.
The other woman then looked at her friend quizzically and asked, "What does your warden do?"
