New mission presidents

Eight new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. The new mission presidents and their assignments are:

Adan G. Bravo M., 38, Peru Chiclayo Mission; Inca Pachacutec Ward, Puno Peru Stake; stake president; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, district president's counselor, district high councilor, branch president and counselor, and missionary in the Peru Lima North Mission; regional coordinator for the Church Educational System; received bachelor's degree in economic engineering from the National University of the Altiplano; born in Cusco, Peru, to Adan Bravo C. and Gloria Matheus A. de Bravo; married Ruth Soana J., four children. She is Relief Society president; former stake Relief Society president's counselor, Primary president and counselor, Young Women president's counselor, Relief Society president's counselor, and Relief Society and Young Women teacher; received nursing degree from the National University of the Altiplano; born in Puno, Peru, to Luis Soana E. and Paulina Jove S. de Soana.- James R. Brown, 60, Pennsylvania Harrisburg Mission; Wasatch 7th Ward, Salt Lake Wasatch Stake; high priests group secretary; former mission president's counselor, high councilor, bishop's counselor, Young Men president, elders quorum president, and missionary in the British Mission; attorney; received bachelor's degree in banking and finance, and law degree from the University of Utah; born in Jerome, Idaho, to George Jacob and Fern Dunn Brown; married Joyce Simpson, four children. Served with husband in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission; former Primary president, Relief Society president's counselor, Young Women president's counselor, Church hostess, and missionary in the British Mission; born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Elwyn White and Annabelle Simmons Kimball Simpson.

Noel W. Burt, 59, Connecticut Hartford Mission; Chapel Hill Ward, Ottawa Ontario Stake; bishop's counselor; former stake president, high councilor, stake mission president, district and branch president, elders quorum president, and Sunday School teacher; manager of member services and development for the Canadian Real Estate Association; received bachelor's degree in English and history from the University of Alberta and master's degree in business administration from BYU; born in Cardston, Alberta, to Bruce Wynder and Druscilla Margaret Nielson Burt; married Rita Campbell, seven children. She is ward organist; former stake Primary president's counselor, stake Relief Society president's counselor, stake Primary music director, district Relief Society president, Primary president's counselor, Sunday School teacher, and Relief Society inservice leader; attended the University of Minnesota, BYU, and the University of Alberta; born in Edmonton, Alberta, to William Alexander and Fawn Lowry Campbell.

Fredrick Froerer III, 51, Canada Montreal Mission; Huntsville 3rd Ward, Huntsville Utah Stake; teachers quorum/Varsity Scouts leader; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop, Scoutmaster, and missionary in the French East Mission; director of the Utah state real estate division; received bachelor's degree in banking and finance and law degree from the University of Utah; born in Logan, Utah, to Fredrick Jr. and Phyllis Margaret Brown Froerer; married Kathleen Larsen, eight children. She is stake Primary president; former Relief Society president's counselor, Primary president's counselor, Mia Maid teacher, Primary and Relief Society teacher; attended the University of Utah; born in Ogden, Utah, to Donald Sorensen and Louise Moyle Silver Larsen.

Joao Roberto Grahl, 44, Brazil Recife Mission; Sao Bernardo 1st Ward, Sao Bernardo Brazil Stake; mission president's counselor; former regional representative, stake president and counselor, high councilor, temple officiator, and missionary in the Brazil North Mission; business proprietor and director; received bachelor's degree in business administration from Senador Flaquer College and master's degree in business administration from Methodist College; born in Tres Passos, Brazil, to Reinaldo and Oscilda Vetter Grahl; married Jussara Da Costa, two children. She is a former stake Young Women president, stake Primary president's counselor, stake Relief Society president's counselor, Relief Society homemaking leader, seminary and institute teacher, and missionary in the Brazil North Mission; born in Birigui, Brazil, to Jose Homem and Belmira Vieira Da Costa.

Joe D. Houston, 41, Iowa Des Moines Mission; Kanab 3rd Ward, Kanab Utah Stake; stake president; former stake president's counselor, bishop's counselor, Young Men president, Scoutmaster, Sunday School president, and elders quorum president; owner of Houstons' Trail's End Inc.; received bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern Utah University; born in Cottonwood, Ariz., to Bob Wright and Emma Dee Orton Houston; married Molly Mognett, four children. She is Young Women president; former Young Women leader, activities committee chairman, Relief Society and Primary teacher; attended Utah Technical College; born in Kanab, Utah, to Melvin Jackson and Viona Chatterley Mognett.

Antonio Rolando Oyola S., 39, Bolivia La Paz Mission; El Bajio Ward, Santa Cruz Bolivia Piray Stake; stake president; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, and bishop; technical manager; received engineering degree; born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, to Rolando and Nelva Suarez Oyola; married Sonia Jimenez, six children. She is Relief Society president; former stake Relief Society president's counselor, Young Women and Relief Society president; born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, to Horacio Jimenez L. and Maria Pimentel Aguilera de Jimenez.

Cordell O. Wold, 58, Russia Samara Mission; Ustick Ward, Meridian Idaho Stake; Sunday School teacher; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake and multi-region dance director, bishop's counselor, ward clerk, Scoutmaster, Varsity Scout coach, and inservice teacher; administrative assistant to area director for the Church Educational System; received bachelor's degree in history and political science and master's degree in early American history from Utah State University, and master's degree in marriage and family therapy from BYU; born in Riverdale, Idaho, to Darrel Rolf and Zera Smith Packer Wold; married Carolyn Pitt, six children.
