Roy W. Oscarson, 87, former president of the Scotland Glasgow Mission and a longtime Church and civic leader in St. Louis, Mo., died May 10, 1996. He had served as branch president, bishop, district president, stake president, and stake patriarch.
He also was appointed honorary consul for Sweden for the state of Missouri and was knighted by the king of Sweden. He retired as the senior executive vice president of the national Edison Brothers Stores Inc.He also served as chairman of the ground-breaking committee of the St. Louis Missouri Temple, which is currently under construction.
