Carl and Mary Ellen Gerth

Married 70 years ago on June 16, 1926, in the Salt Lake Temple. He had immigrated to the United States three years earlier as an electrician, and had investigated the Church and been baptized. He became a cook at LDS Hospital, and then farmed after their marriage until he was injured when a horse fell on him. He retired as a hotel clerk. She taught Sunday School, has been a visiting teacher for more than 50 years, and taught Primary, Relief Society and YWMIA. He has been a home teacher, priesthood leader, and served several stake missions. They served a family history mission together. Members of the South Cottonwood 3rd Ward, Salt Lake South Cottonwood Stake. Parents of 10 children, they have 48 grandchildren, and 63 great-grandchildren.

Ezra J. and Selma Hepworth

Ezra J. Hepworth

Married 70 years ago on June 15, 1926, in Laramie, Wyo., while attending the University of Wyoming, and later were sealed in the Logan Temple. They lived in Cheyenne, Wyo., for 20 years, then moved to Utah. He retired as a postal worker, and she retired from the Internal Revenue Service. He served as ward clerk and high priests group leader. She served as teacher, organist and chorister in the auxiliaries. They served a full-time mission to New Zealand where he was branch president. Members of the Eagle Gate 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Eagle Gate Stake. Parents of five children, they have 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
