Members gather June 11 for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Madrid Spain Temple in Mortalez, an area in the west part of Madrid. Despite the wilting heat, more than 2,000 attended the long-awaited event, presided over by President Gordon B. Hinckley, who also turned the first shovelful of soil.
