1 million expected to tour new temple

The public open house of the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, and continue through Saturday, Sept. 21, with the exception of Sundays.

Tickets, which are complimentary, are required for the open house. While demand for tickets has been high, an ample number still remain, according to Don Lundberg, director of reservations and ticketing.The public tours begin at 7 a.m., Mondays through Saturdays. On Tuesdays through Saturdays, the tours will end at 10 p.m. On Mondays, tours will end at 7 p.m..

More than 1 million people are expected to tour the new temple before the open house closes. Reservations have been made for groups throughout the western United States and Canada.

The free tickets may be ordered by calling (801) 763-4570 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. A ticket is required for everyone except babies in arms.

The temple, the 49th operating temple in the Church and the ninth in Utah, will be dedicated in 27 sessions from Oct. 13-19.
