More than 4,000 members from the Caribbean gathered Aug. 18 to witness the groundbreaking ceremony for the region's first temple.
Presiding at the ceremony was Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve, accompanied by Elder F. Burton Howard of the Seventy and president of the North America Southeast Area. Also taking part was Eduardo Selman, technology secretary in the cabinet of Dominican Republic's new leader, President Leonel Fernandez. The story is on page 3.
