The First Presidency has announced the public open house and dedication dates for the St. Louis Missouri Temple, now nearing completion on a 14-acre site in the St. Louis suburb of Town and Country.
Public open house of the edifice will be April 26 through May 17, except Sundays. The temple will be dedicated in 11 sessions June 1-3 to allow as many worthy Latter-day Saints as possible within the 80,000-member district to attend. Included in the temple district are Missouri, parts of Nebraska, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana and Arkansas.When dedicated, the temple will be the Church's 50th operating temple and the 26th in the United States. Ground was broken for the building on Oct. 13, 1993.
Temples nearing completion are in Preston, England, and Vernal, Utah. Others under construction are in Bogota, Colombia; Guayaquil, Ecuador; and Madrid, Spain. Temples for which ground has been broken are in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and Recife, Brazil. Temples announced are in Billings, Mont.; Boston, Mass.; Caracas, Venezuela; Monterrey, Mexico; Nashville, Tenn.; and White Plains, N.Y.
