A fireside highlighting pioneer heritage will be telecast over the Church's satellite system Sunday, May 18, for the young men of the Church.
The Aaronic Priesthood Pioneer Sesquicentennial Fireside, called "Faith in Every Footstep," will originate from the Tabernacle on Temple Square at 6 p.m. MDT, and be broadcast to more than 3,100 meetinghouses in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. Young men of the Church ages 12-18, together with their fathers and adult leaders, are invited to attend.The program is part of the Church's continuing commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Mormon Pioneers' arrival in the Salt Lake Valley, and will include an address by President Gordon B. Hinckley. Other speakers will be Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve, Elder Jack H Goaslind of the Presidency of the Seventy and general president of the Young Men, and Presiding Bishop H. David Burton.
A program of the same theme was presented to the young women of the Church over the Church's satellite system in March.
The May 18 program will be rebroadcast at 8 p.m. that evening by KBYU-TV, Channel 11, Provo, Utah.
