More than 15,000 people converged on the BYU campus April 30-May 1 for the 1998 Women's Conference, but the conference's reach this year extended far beyond the campus. Seven sessions were telecast via the Church satellite system and KBYU-TV (Channel 11).
Thus, thousands in the United States and Canada had the opportunity May 1-2 to benefit from the annual women's conference."Technology has enabled us to extend our reach and share the great spirit of sisterhood present at the Women's Conference with those unable to join us on campus," explained the 1998 Women's Conference booklet.
This year, the conference, with the theme, "May Christ Lift Thee Up," taken from Moro. 9:25, consisted of 102 sessions - including four plenary sessions - taught by 203 presenters. On this page are excerpts from the general sessions.
