In Hosea 13:4, the premortal Christ directly declared His Messiahship. In the context of denouncing the worship of idols by certain of the Israelites and describing the consequences that would result, He said: "Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me."
This doctrine was restated by Peter as recorded in Acts 4:11-12, when he said regarding Jesus: "This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Likewise, Nephi testified: "As the Lord God liveth, there is none other name given under heaven save it be this Jesus Christ, of which I have spoken, whereby man can be saved." (2 Ne. 25:20.)
Nephi further emphasized the fundamental and essential nature of the doctrine by stating: "There is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end." (2 Ne. 31:21.)
And King Benjamin taught his subjects: "There shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent." (Mosiah 3:17.)
