Family: Born Feb. 6, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Rulon Hawkins and Verda Anderson Rasband; married Melanie Twitchell, daughter of Blaine Exeter and Marilyn Woodbury Twitchell on Sept. 4, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple; five children, Rachelle, (David). 25; Jenessa (James), 24; Robyn (Ryan), 22; Shannon, 19; Ronald Christian, 15.
Education: attended the University of Utah and received an honorary doctorate of business and commerce from Utah Valley State College (1995).
Employment: Self-employed businessman (1999-2000); president and chief operations officer of Huntsman Chemical Corporation (1987-1996); employee and officer, various Huntsman companies (1975-1996).
Church Service: President of New York, New York North Mission (1996-1999), Church Pioneer Sesquicentennial Committee (1993-1997), high councilor in University of Utah 1st Stake (1987-1989), bishop of University of Utah 10th Ward (1989-1993).
Community service: Member of the National Advisory Council at Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Business; former member of the Board of Citizens for Positive Community Values, Salt Lake City, Utah; former member of University of Utah International Advisory Board.
