Washington, DC
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC was the setting on Feb. 3 for the world premiere of Ethan Wickman's four-part symphonic and choral tribute, "Let the Word Go Forth."
Brother Wickman is a member of the Parkwood Ward of the San Antonio Texas West Stake and is Assistant Professor of Music Composition and Theory at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Commissioned as part of a musical remembrance of the life and service of President John F. Kennedy in the year of the 50th anniversary of his assassination, Brother Wickman's composition was performed by the orchestra and a combined choir of 335 voices from eight universities and high schools. A full house in the concert hall gave a standing ovation following the performance of this new work.
