Five new temple presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service later this year.
Francis Call Alder, 66, Vancouver 6th (Spanish) Branch, Vancouver Washington West Stake, called as president of the Santiago Chile Temple, succeeding President Julio E. Otay. President Alder's wife, Darlene Jean Belnap Alder, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a sealer in the Portland Oregon Temple, branch employment specialist and branch mission leader. He has served as president of the Chile Antofagasta Mission, stake president and bishop. A retired dentist, he was born in Provo, Utah, to Francis Marion and Loma Call Alder.
Sister Alder serves as a temple ordinance worker in the Portland Oregon Temple and as a counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency. She served with her husband as he presided over the Chile Antofagasta Mission. She has served in a ward Relief Society presidency, as ward Young Women president and in a ward Primary presidency. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Bryan West and Darlene Howard Belnap.

David John Hoare, 60, Sunbury Ward, Melbourne Australia Deer Park Stake, called as president of the Melbourne Australia Temple, succeeding President Malcolm R. Mullis. President Hoare's wife, Susan Lorna Brown Hoare, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a high priests group leader. He has served as an Area Seventy, stake president, bishop and welfare regional chairman. A budget manager, he was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, to Jack Ernest and Yvonne Alice Frances Hoare.
Sister Hoare serves as a seminary teacher. She has served in stake and branch Young Women presidencies, stake and branch Primary presidencies and as a branch Relief Society president. She was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to Bruce Kelvin and Betty Emeline Brown.

Robert Michael McChesney Sr., 70, Alabaster Ward, Bessemer Alabama Stake, called as president of the Birmingham Alabama Temple, succeeding President Kent R. Van Kampen. President McChesney's wife, Laraine Freestone McChesney, will serve as temple matron. He serves as first counselor in the Birmingham Alabama Temple presidency. He has served as stake president, bishop, high councilor and volunteer assistant temple recorder. Emeritus president of the University of Montevallo, he was born in Effingham, Ill., to J. D. and Helen Grace Russell McChesney.
Sister McChesney serves as an assistant to the matron at the Birmingham Alabama Temple. She has previously served as a counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, stake Primary president, ward Relief Society President and ward Primary president. She was born in Bingham Canyon, Utah, to Grant and Romania G Martinsen Freestone.

John Charles Taggart, 67, Beijing 4th (English) Branch, Beijing China International (English) District, called as president of the Raleigh North Carolina Temple, succeeding President J. Mitchel Scott. President Taggart's wife, Marilyn Whitehead Taggart, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a counselor in an elders quorum presidency and as a Sunday School teacher. He has served as an Area Seventy, stake president, bishop and high councilor. A visiting professor of law in Beijing, China, he was born in Ogden, Utah, to John Seaman and Martha Taggart.
Sister Taggart serves as a counselor in a Primary presidency. She has served in a stake Relief Society presidency and as a stake public affairs director, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president's counselor and ward Primary president. She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., to Calvert Watson and Norma Laws Whitehead.

Chung Hei Patrick Wong, 63, Cleveland Ward, Brisbane Australia Cleveland Stake, called as president of the Hong Kong China Temple, succeeding President John M. Aki. President Wong's wife, Lai Ling Kathy Cheung Wong, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a temple ordinance worker in the Brisbane Australia Temple and as a ward missionary. He has served as an Area Seventy, regional representative, stake president and as a senior couple missionary. A retired human resource director, he was born in Hong Kong, China, to Wong, Choy and Mak, Po Kwai.
Sister Wong serves as a temple ordinance worker in the Brisbane Australia Temple. She has served as a stake and ward Relief Society president, stake Primary president and as a senior couple missionary. She was born in Hong Kong, China, to Chiang, Kok Bin and Poon, Siu Wan.
