Religious leaders from all over the world, including from the Church, participated in the 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions, one of the world’s largest interreligious gatherings. Elder L. Whitney Clayton, senior president of the Presidency of the Seventy, and government leaders from Utah participated in the opening ceremony and procession on Oct. 15. Elder Clayton offered a prayer and some brief remarks during the parliament, which was held Oct. 15–19 in Salt Lake City.

Some 50 faiths from 80 nations gathered for the event, which was held in the United States for the first time in more than 20 years. Recent meetings have been held in Australia, Mexico and Spain.
