Five new temple presidents and matrons have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service later this year.
Helaman Flores Cano, 64, Lomas Ward, Colonia Dublán Stake, called as president of the Colonia Juárez Chihuahua Mexico Temple, succeeding President John L Hatch. President Flores’ wife, María Estela García Flores de Flores, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Sandra C. Hatch. He serves as second counselor in the Colonia Juárez Chihuahua Mexico Temple. He has served as bishop, high councilor, high priests group leader and temple ordinance worker. An employee of Sun Valley Foods, he was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Porfirio Flores Trevizo and Cano Ramona Chávez.
Sister Flores serves as an assistant to the matron of the Colonia Juárez Mexico Temple. She has served as stake and ward Relief Society president, stake Young Women president’s counselor, Relief Society teacher and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Colonia Dublán, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Juan A. García Estrada and Natalia Flores.
Ronald Emmett Dalene, 60, Juárez 1st Ward, Colonia Juárez Mexico Stake, called as president of the Hermosillo Mexico Temple, succeeding President Roldolfo Piñón. President Dalene’s wife, Joyce Lynette Brown Dalene, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Mary Ann K. Piñón. He serves as a high priests group leader. He has served as president of the Bolivia Cochabamba Mission, bishop, high councilor and temple ordinance worker. Owner and manager of Rancho La Mesa, he was born in Cody, Wyoming, to Marion Leroy and Sandra Joyce Dalene.
Sister Dalene serves in a stake Relief Society presidency. She served with her husband as he presided over the Bolivia Cochabamba Mission and has also served in a stake Young Women presidency, as ward Primary president and a Relief Society and Primary teacher. She was born in Colonia Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to David Samuel Brown and Ellis Vda. de Brown Whetten.
Seppo Olavi Syvänen, 65, Utby Ward, Göteborg Sweden Stake, called as president of the Helsinki Finland Temple, succeeding President O. Pekka Roto. President Syvänen’s wife, Kirsti Annikki Markkanen Syvänen, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Anna-Kaarina T. Roto. He serves as a high councilor and temple sealer. He has served as second counselor in the Stockholm Sweden Temple presidency, bishop, branch president and high councilor. A retired military officer, he was born in Juupajoki, Häme, Finland, to Eino Johannes Syvänen and Toini Hakkarainen.
Sister Syvänen has served as an assistant the matron of the Stockholm Sweden Temple, stake Relief Society president’s counselor, stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, and seminary teacher. She was born in Kuopio, Finland, to Veikko Ilmari Markkanen and Eedla Elviira Korhonen.
Tetuanui Marama Tarati, 64, Paopao Ward, Arue Tahiti Stake, called as president of the Papeete Tahiti Temple, succeeding President Jean A. Tefan. President Tarati’s wife, Christiane Mere Pea Tarati, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Gisele M. Tefan. He serves as an Area Seventy. He has served as president of the Tahiti Papeete Mission, National Public Affairs director for French Polynesia, stake president, district president and bishop. A retired special education school director, he was born in Avera, Raiatea, French Polynesia, to Haurai and Ahuura Tarati.
Sister Tarati serves as a Young Single Adult Sunday School teacher. She served with her husband as he presided over the Tahiti Papeete Mission, and has also served as stake and ward Young Women president, district Primary president, and seminary teacher. She was born in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia, to Tutehau Pea and Reiatua Hélène Tuihani.
Kouzou Tashiro, 67, Kumamoto Ward, Kumamoto Japan Stake, called as president of the Fukuoka Japan Temple, succeeding President Yasuyuki Shiraishi. President Tashiro’s wife, Akiko Imamura Tashiro, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Teruko Shiraishi. He serves as an Area Seventy. He has served as stake president, district president, mission president’s counselor, stake and district mission president and service missionary. President of Tashiro Company, he was born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Amakusa County, Japan, to Nobuo and Fujie Tashiro.
Sister Tashiro has served in a stake Relief Society presidency, and as ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president, Sunday School and Relief Society teacher, and service missionary. She was born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Kumamoto City, Japan, to Jhusaburo and Hatsui Imamura.
