Two new temple presidents and matrons have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service later this year.
James Kealoha, 71, Kahaluu Ward, Kaneohe Hawaii Stake, called as president of the Laie Hawaii Temple, succeeding President Patrick K. Kanekoa. President Kealoha’s wife, Arlette Kalawemaunu Hew Kealoha, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Elizabeth P. Kanekoa. He serves as a stake Sunday School president and temple sealer. He has served as first and second counselor in the Laie Hawaii Temple presidency, bishop and high priests group leader. A retired general contractor, he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Ahukini and Emily Kealoha.
Sister Kealoha serves as a ward Relief Society teacher. She has served as assistant to the matron at the Laie Hawaii Temple, stake Relief Society president and seminary teacher. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Albert Paawaa and Olga Naomi Hew.
Francisco de Assis Souza, 62, Jardim das Américas Ward, Curitiba Brazil Stake, called as president of the Recife Brazil Temple, succeeding President Gelson Pizzirani. President Souza’s wife, Elaine Mara Gonçalves Souza, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Marian Pizzirani. He serves as a high priests group leader and temple sealer. He has served as president of the Brazil Fortaleza Mission, second counselor in the Curitiba Brazil Temple presidency, Curitiba Brazil Temple Open House and Dedication Committee member, stake president’s counselor, bishop and high councilor. A retired technology manager, he was born in Curitiba, Brazil, to Francisco Xavier de Souza and Virginia Arcênio de Souza.
Sister Souza served with her husband as he presided over the Brazil Fortaleza Mission. She has served as assistant to the matron of the Curitiba Brazil Temple, Curitiba Brazil Temple Open House and Dedication Committee member, stake FamilySearch director, ward Relief Society president and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Curitiba, Brazil, to Azamur and Odete Rosi Gonçalves.
