A 20-year-old from the Xalapa Mexico Stake, who was serving as a missionary in the Costa Rica San Jose East Mission, died in his sleep on July 14 of unknown causes, the Church reported on July 17.
“We are saddened to report the death of Elder Ricardo Alberto Cuevas Magdaleno, a missionary serving in the Costa Rica San Jose East Mission,” said Church spokesman Eric Hawkins. “We offer our prayers and condolences to his family and friends as they mourn the passing of this faithful young missionary.”
There are two missions and one temple in Costa Rica.
