New stake presidents

Two new stakes have been created.

A new stake has been created from the Juazeiro Brazil District. The Juazeiro do Norte Brazil Stake, which consists of the Araripina and Trindade branches and the Barbalha, Crato, Juazeiro do Norte, Pirajá and the Tiradentes wards, was created by Elder Jairo Mazzagardi, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Francisco D.N. Granja, an Area Seventy.

A new stake has been created from the Provo Utah East and the Provo Utah South stakes. The Provo Utah Freedom Stake, which consists of the Freedom 1st, Freedom 2nd, Freedom 3rd, Provo 1st, Provo 6th, Provo Peak 3rd and Provo Peak 11th wards, was created by Elder Mervyn B. Aronld, a General Authority Seventy, and Elder Douglas L. Dance, an Area Seventy.

Counselors — Valério Clares Costa, 34, consultant, Clares Consultants; wife, Cicera Elaine Matias Oliveira. José Ronier Nobre Gregório, 36, school principal; wife, Adriana da Silva Semião.

PROVO UTAH FREEDOM STAKE: (June 5, 2016) President — Michael Paul Merz, 70, president/Ceo, Merz Properties; wife, Marian Curtis Brockhoff Merz. Counselors — Stephen Craig Howe, 42, general contractor; wife, Kari Marie Hartley Howe. Gerald Eldridge Kawika Allen, 42, professor, BYU; wife, Carolina Molina Sagebin Allen.
