In a Church News video, President Russell M. Nelson spoke about the responsibility he and Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have while they are on their Southeast Asia Ministry.

Their priority, he said, is to share the the message that Christ lives.

"We have to realize that these are not generally Christian countries, and they don't know what we're talking about when we say that God lives, because they don't know God, And they don't know Jesus Christ," President Nelson said.

"These dear souls who are searching for happiness, searching for joy, searching for meaning in life don't know where to turn. Our responsibility is to teach and to testify that God lives, Jesus is the Christ and that He is not dead. He is not an icon on a cross. He is a resurrected Lord, and He directs the work of His Church."

Elder Christofferson, who has accompanied President Nelson as they have traveled to Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and Indonesia, added that the gospel makes people happier and can bless entire countries.

"I think they need to know that the restored gospel is going to bless their people and indirectly the whole nation," he said.

While on his Southeast Asia Ministry, President Nelson revealed the rendering for the Cambodia temple, met with government dignitaries and spoke to congregations of Church members.

In the video, President Nelson highlighted the character of Latter-day Saints throughout the world.

"No matter where the country is, what language they speak or what flag they wave — they become good citizens," President Nelson said. "We get thanks for their good behavior."
