Video: President Nelson, NAACP leaders explain what their partnership is really about
A new Church News video demonstrates the growing partnership between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the NAACP.
In the video, the Rev. Amos C. Brown, pastor of San Francisco 's Third Baptist Church, talked about how he sees the hand of God between the two organizations.
"I do not consider it to be accidental. It was providential that the NAACP and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will come together on common ground," he said. "We need each other. We should not turn on each other in these difficult times. We should turn to each other. Each of us has something to offer."

From refurbishing NAACP offices in Jackson, Mississippi, in 2017 to collaborating in 2018 on a self-reliance initiative to working with BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School on joint projects, the partnership’s focus is on helping all of God’s children.
President Russell M. Nelson, who gave an address during the 110th annual convention of the NAACP at personal invitation, also shared in the video how as children of God, it’s our similarities — not our differences — that truly matter.
“We don’t look alike, but the things that we have in common are much more important than the differences that we may have. So wherever the people are, they’re God’s children and they’re our brothers and sisters regardless of nationality, race, color — it’s not exclusive.”
