6 investigating Church following play

An LDS musical presented by an all-deaf cast received standing ovations from full houses, and revitalized missionary work among deaf people in the Salt Lake Valley, said Sister Doris Wilding of the Utah Salt Lake City Mission, the musical's director.

The musical "My Turn on Earth" was presented at Promised Valley Playhouse in Salt Lake City to an enthusiastic audience of 1,600 non-hearing and hearing people in three performances March 10-11. The audience was comprised of Church members and non-LDS friends, neighbors and relatives."It was probably one of the largest gatherings of deaf people in the state," said mission Pres. V. Dallas Merrell. "Everyone thought it was wonderful," said Sister Wilding. "They couldn't believe something that powerful could happen."

She said about 30 or 40 people, many from the Salt Lake Valley (Deaf) Ward, Salt Lake Park Stake, and student wards at the University of Utah, helped in the production.

Missionaries are teaching six investigators following the production, she said.
