The number of people who visited historic Temple Square during the summer has increased over the previous summer, although the year's to-date total is slightly lower than in 1988, reported Temple Square director Ralph O. Bradley.
About 1.8 million visitors came during June, July and August, an increase of some 41,000 over the same period a year ago.As of Aug. 31, some 2.85 million people had visited Temple Square, compared with 2.89 million a year ago. Leaders expect this year's total to surpass 4 million, as did last year's total, said Bradley. "We have quite a few tour groups signed up in advance. We expect a brisk fall season."
