Ricks records high enrollment for summer term

Ricks College experienced its largest enrollment ever for summer school term, according to Jim Gee, assistant academic vice president for support services. He said 1,481 students attended third term this year, a 30 percent increase over the 1,138 who attended last year.

Third term ended Aug. 17, with fall semester set to get under way Sept. 5.To accommodate the larger summer enrollment, the college added several classes and nearly doubled the number of English courses originally scheduled.

The majority of courses taught during the summer are general education requirements, but Ricks offered more major courses this year than ever before, he said.
