A reminder of the Nov. 30 entry deadline for the $43,000 International Art Competition and Exhibition sponsored by the Museum of Church History and Art has been given by Glen M. Leonard, museum director.
The competition, the second of what is planned to be an annual event, was announced in January.Prize money has been contributed by anonymous donors.
The subject is "Themes from the Scriptures," Leonard said. Artists may submit one recently completed work in any artistic medium.
Competition is open to Latter-day Saint artists who create paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, textiles, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, quilts, lace, embroidery or any other artistic medium.
To qualify, the work of art must reflect a theme, value, story or image inspired by one of the standard works - Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants or Pearl of Great Price.
Art work accepted for exhibition will be displayed at the museum next summer.
