Ward heeds counsel to read Book of Mormon

Members of the Applewood Ward, applying President Ezra Taft Benson's counsel to read and study the Book of Mormon, conducted a successful program recently to read the book in 90 days, about the length of time it took the Prophet Joseph Smith to translate the book.

Dave Eldredge, one of the organizers of the program, said one of the objectives was to distribute copies of the Book of Mormon to anyone in the ward who did not have one or who needed one to give to a relative, neighbor or friend."Many Primary children participated in reading the Book of Mormon completely through for the first time in their lives," Brother Eldredge said. "Even some of the older members of the ward admitted that this was the first time they had read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover."
