The cookbook, A Century of Foods, compiled for the Idaho Day Centennial Celebration last summer, will represent cookbooks from Idaho on a new show, "Cooking USA," scheduled to air in April 1991 on a Nashville cable television network. The show will feature one cookbook per state on each show. Compiled under the direction of the Preston Idaho North Stake, the book contains 1,600 recipes, including some from Mormon pioneers and from members of the Malad, Preston South, Franklin, Grace, Soda Springs, Montpelier, Paris and Arimo Idaho stakes.
"Because the cookbook includes historic background and pictures of Mormon pioneer communities, it gives insight into early Mormon pioneer life and culture," said Wayne Bell, general chairman of the Idaho Day Centennial Celebration and a member of the Preston 9th Ward.Readers from around the world are invited to submit news items and photos for this feature on Church events worldwide.
