The First Presidency has announced the call of four new mission presidents. They and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Assignments will be made later. The new mission presidents are:
Ned Lewis Christensen, 54, Bountiful 59th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake; former stake president's counselor, bishop's counselor, ward clerk, branch president and counselor; served in Northern Far East Mission, 1957-59; director of Confidential Services for the Church; received bachelor's degree from the University of Utah; born in Levan, Utah, a son of Asahel Alton and Fern Leah Bosh Christensen; married Carla Maxfield; three children. She is a Relief Society teacher, former Relief Society president and counselor, Young Women adviser, Junior Sunday School coordinator; attended the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of LeGrande O. and Miriam Van Wagoner Maxfield.
David Craig Heslington, 39, Arlington Hills Ward, Salt Lake Emigration Stake; high councilor and stake Young Men president, former stake president and counselor, high councilor, ward executive secretary, elder's quorum president; served in Mexico North Mission, 1971-73; vice president/account manager of Johnson & Higgins of Utah; received bachelor's degree and master's of business administration degree from University of Utah, master's degree at American Graduate School of International Management; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of David Clinton and Elva Stubbs Heslington; married Linda Karen Neilson; six children. She is a Relief Society counselor, ward newsletter editor, former Relief Society secretary, Relief Society teacher, Young Women president and adviser, Junior Sunday School coordinator and Primary teacher; received bachelor's degree from University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Neils Peter and Irma Louise Stowell Neilson.
Donald Dean Hooks, 58, Coronado Ward, Tucson Arizona North Stake; stake president, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, assistant high priest group leader, bishop and counselor; served in Northwestern States Mission, 1953; president/owner of Hooks Oil Co.; attended Arizona State University; born in Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., a son of William Clinton and Edna Smith Hooks; married Margaret Louise O'Bryan; five children. She is ward activities chairman, former Relief Society counselor, Sunday School teacher, singles representative, Young Women president; received associate degree from Pima College, attended University of Arizona and BYU; born in Corbin, Ky., a daughter of David Basil and Ruth Ella Thomas O'Bryan.
Elmo Lloyd Robinson Jr., 46, Friendswood Ward, Friendswood Texas Stake; counselor in Texas Houston East Mission presidency, former stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, bishop and counselor, ward clerk, Scoutmaster, Sunday School teacher; president of American Craftsman Homes Inc.; received bachelor's and master's degrees from University of Utah; born in El Paso, Texas, a son of Elmo Lloyd and Shirley Viola Lambert Robinson; married Katharine Virginia Harris; nine children.
