N.Y. Visitors Center hosts stream of foreign guests

The New York Visitors Center, located in the heart of Manhattan, has enjoyed an unusual number of foreign visitors recently, according to director Paul R. Cheesman.

Within the last month, the center has hosted guests from Russia, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Korea, France, China, Czechoslovakia, South Africa, Spain, Brazil, Germany, Belgium and Romania.Brother Cheesman said: "During this period, a young Russian painter from Moscow came in and, upon completion of the tour, remarked as he pointed to his heart, `I feel something never felt before - there is a great love and great light here. There is something very familiar about the things I have heard.' "

The man told Brother Cheesman, "It is almost as if I have always known these things are right. I do not drink, do not smoke, do not take drugs, do not even drink tea or coffee."

He read the Book of Mormon in four days, heard the six missionary discussions and was baptized two weeks later.
