Utah South Area encourages family history

About 450 people attended a recent family history fair hosted by the Alpine 1st and 3rd wards of the Alpine Utah Stake. As part of the event, Elder J. Richard Clarke of the Presidency of the Seventy spoke about family history - once to youth and once to adults.

The program also included displays on a variety of family history topics. The Church's new FamilySearch computer program was demonstrated."It was really delightful," said Blaine Hudson, Alpine 1st Ward family history committee chairman.

Brother Hudson said 167 people from the two wards signed up to be trained in such topics as writing a personal history, home extraction, how to begin research and other related subjects. Training in those areas will be given through the wards.\
