Presiding Bishop Robert D. Hales was discharged from LDS Hospital Sept. 3 after being admitted to the hospital Aug. 23 with a heart attack.
"Through a week and half of hospitalization, doctors felt that his condition had improved to the point that they could release him to his home," said Church spokesman Don LeFevre.Bishop Hales, 59, was moved out of the coronary care unit and into a regular hospital room Aug. 28 as his condition improved.
He was called as Presiding Bishop April 6, 1985. He previously served as an Assistant to the Twelve and in the First Quorum of the Seventy. He was called as a General Authority April 4, 1975.
