Grace Tart and her grandchildren, Julie and Mike Tart, enjoy a walk from the town of Gig Harbor, Wash. The Tarts, like many Church members, moved to Gig Harbor to get away from the busy city life and enjoy the scenic views of the area.
Gig Harbor, about 10 miles from Tocoma, Wash., has a population of 3,200 and is home to about 900 members. Just in the past several years, the Church has experienced rapid growth in the area. The two Gig Harbor wards have high activity rates with sacrament meeting attendance being the highest in the Tocama Washington Stake. Please see page 12 for a story on the Church in scenic Gig Harbor.
