My husband's profession as an arts administrator (director of performing arts facilities) has given our five children many opportunities through the years to experience a variety of cultural events. The younger kids were usually very impressed by physical surroundings, such as the lovely halls, box office, ticket takers, and ushers showing us to our seats.
I did not realize exactly how influenced they were until one day as we were preparing to enter the chapel for sacrament meeting. Our 6-year-old son hurried ahead and requested extra programs from the deacon who was passing them out at the door.Returning, bursting with pride, he informed us that we could go right in because he had already picked up our tickets. - Lorraine Crossley, Decatur, Ill.
