New board members

The First Presidency has announced the calling of three members of the Primary General Board. The new board members previously served under the presidency of former Primary General Pres. Michaelene P. Grassli and were released when Sister Grassli was released in October 1994. Now serving under Primary General Pres. Patricia P. Pinegar, they are:

Athelia Tanner Woolley, Holladay 4th Ward, Holladay Utah South Stake; homemaker; former Primary General Board member, Primary teacher, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, gospel doctrine teacher, Relief Society curriculum writer, full-time missionary in the French East Mission. PTA board member, literacy tutor, Great Books instructor, hospital volunteer, active in politics; married to Kenneth M. Woolley.Karen Ashton, Sharon 5th Ward, Orem Utah Sharon Stake; homemaker; former Primary General Board member, stake Young Women adviser, ward Young Women counselor, ward Relief Society counselor, Primary teacher and chorister, den mother, Young Women camp director; president of Orem City Library Board, president of Friends of the Library, founder and director of the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, volunteer storyteller for Primary Children's Medical Center; married to Alan C. Ashton.

Patricia Haglund Nielsen, Edgemont 5th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; homemaker; former Primary General Board member, Junior Sunday School, Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School chorister, choir director, ward music chairwoman, Junior Sunday School coordinator, Primary, Young Women and Relief Society teacher, full-time missionary in Germany; member of Action Team for Provo School District, served for two years as elementary vice president for the Utah Music Educators Association, has given volunteer music workshops and demonstrated lessons for school and church groups; married to F. Kent Nielsen.
