Six new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Their assignments will be announced later. The new mission presidents are:
Paul R. Anderson, 61, Stevens Creek Ward, Saratoga California Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former multi-region welfare agent, stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men president, stake Sunday School superintendent, bishop and counselor; director of purchasing for Harman Management Corp.; received bachelor's degree in accounting from BYU; born in Fillmore, Utah, to Oscar Alma and Mary Lottie Ashby Anderson; married Joyce LuDean Marshall, two children. She is Relief Society spiritual living teacher; former stake Young Women president, stake Relief Society president's counselor, Relief Society president and counselor, and Young Women president; attended Utah State University; born in Fillmore, Utah, to Frank and Gussie Millgate Marshall.Samuel H. Cluff, 46, Coral Springs Ward, Pompano Beach Florida Stake; high councilor; former high councilor, member of seventies quorum presidency, stake missionary, bishop, Young Men president, elders quorum president's counselor, and missionary in the West Mexican Mission; Church Educational System coordinator; received bachelor's degree in Spanish and physical education, master's degree in professional leadership in physical education, and doctorate in public school administration, all from BYU; born in Colonia Juarez, Mexico, to Halver J. and Margaret Brown Cluff; married Mona Strate, five children. She is stake Primary president; former stake seminary adviser, stake Relief Society board member, stake sports director, institute teacher, seminary teacher, Relief Society president and counselor, Young Women president, Primary pianist, Laurel teacher, Beehive teacher, Blazer teacher, Sunday School and Relief Society teacher, and missionary in Ohio; received nursing degrees from University of Alberta and BYU; born in Lethbridge, Alberta, to Fredrick Carlos and Harriet Ririe Strate.
Byung Sik Hong, 61, Mission Lake Ward, Santa Margarita California Stake; associate director of public affairs for the North America West Area and Sunday School teacher; former temple ordinance worker, high councilor, stake missionary, district president's counselor, branch president, and seminary teacher; professor of management at National University in San Diego; received bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Seoul, master's degree in general management from National University, and doctorate in technical management from U.S. International University; born in Chunbuk Province, South Korea, to Sun Suk and Sun Bok Hwang Hong; married Chung Soon Lee, four children. She is ward librarian; former Relief Society president and Primary president's counselor; attended E Wha University; born in Seoul, Korea, to Chong Hyun and Soon Rye Kim Lee.
Stephen D. Posey, 46, North Augusta Ward, Augusta Georgia Stake; stake president; former high councilor, stake mission president, bishop's counselor, branch president, seminary teacher, and missionary in the California Mission; owner of funeral home; received mortuary science degree from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science; born in Inglewood, Calif., to Dudley Thayer and Alta Marie Walker Posey; married Nancy Marie Ledbetter, three children. Douglas H. Swenson, 44, Cliffside 2nd Ward, Logan Utah Mount Logan Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former high councilor, bishop and counselor, executive secretary, elders quorum president, Cubmaster, and missionary in the Mexico North Mission; partner in a CPA firm; received bachelor's degree in accounting from BYU; born in Ames, Iowa, to Richard Merill and Inez Tennant Swenson; married Laraine Stock, seven children. R. Ray Ward, 58, Pleasant View 3rd Ward, Pleasant View Utah Stake; stake Young Men president; former stake Young Men president's counselor, bishop's counselor, high priests group leader, Sunday School teacher, and Scoutmaster; general contractor; attended Weber State College and Idaho State University; born in Brigham City, Utah, to Donas Ray and Verlie Bott Ward; married JoAnn Miles, five children.
