New temple presidents

  • JAMES E. HILL SR., 68, Orange Park 1st Ward, Jacksonville Florida West Stake, called as president of the Atlanta Georgia Temple, succeeding Pres. Gerald L. Scott. Pres. Hill's wife, Betty Valentine Turner Hill, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Hill, a regional representative and temple ordinance worker, has served as stake president and counselor, high coucilor, stake clerk and bishop. A retired Florida Department of Transportation safety officer and real estate broker, he graduated from BYU. He was born in Jacksonville, Fla., to Frank C. and Ruth Jones Hill. Sister Hill is a temple ordinance worker, and former stake Relief Society board member, ward Relief Society president's counselor and stake Primary secretary. She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., to John Thomas and Carrie Della Tucker Valentine.
  • LAURENCE CHARLES BUNDY-PALMER, 60, Klerksdorp Branch, Carletonville South Africa District, called as president of the Johannesburg South Africa Temple, succeeding Pres. Reed J. Webster. Pres. Bundy-Palmer's wife, Freda Steenkamp Bundy-Palmer, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Bundy-Palmer has served as district president's counselor, branch president, branch president's counselor, elders quorum president and Sunday School president. He is a retired mining industry worker. He was born in South Africa to Ernest Joseph and Martha Magdelena Bender Bundy-Palmer. Sister Bundy-Palmer is a temple ordinance worker and a former district and branch Relief Society president, Young Women president and teacher, and seminary and institute teacher. She was born in South Africa to Willem Adriaan and Adelaide Johanna Gray Steenkamp.
