New stake presidencies

Two new stakes - the Neiafu Vava`u Tonga West Stake and the Savaii Samoa Sagone Stake - have been organized by Elder V. Dallas Merrell of the Seventy.

The new Tongan stake includes the Leimatua, Longomapu, Neiafu 4th, Tefisi, and Tuanuku wards, and Falevai, Hunga, Matamaka, Noapapu, and Otea branches.The new stake in Samoa includes the Foailuga, Sagone, Samata 1st and 2nd, and Taga wards, and the Fagafau, Faiaai, and Fogatuli branches.

Elsewhere, stakes have been reorganized in Canada, Germany, Samoa and Tonga, and in California, Idaho, New Mexico, Texas and Utah.

NEIAFU VAVU TONGA WEST STAKE: (Aug. 27, 1995) Created from the Neiafu Vavu Tonga and Neiafu Vavau Tonga North stakes, and the Niua Vavu Tonga District. President - Tukia "I" Vavau Havea, 33, first-class clerk at Saineha High School business office, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, executive secretary, and elders quorum president, married Linda F. Fehitoa. SAVAII SAMOA SAGONE STAKE: (Sept. 10, 1995) Created from the Savaii Samoa West and Savaii Samoa South stakes. President - Paulo Sofeni Matofai, 30, former stake clerk, married Faalaa Satui Pupu.
