Religious freedom came slowly in Salzburg - a land known for its music and its mountains. With the recent creation of the Salzburg Austria Stake, the German-speaking areas of Europe are now covered by stakes, said Elder Dieter Uchtdorf, president of the Europe West Area.
Today, the sounds of missionary work are heard among the pure in heart in Austria. Third-generation members are now leading the Church, which is growing steadily. Members believe the prospects for the Church look bright as Austrians come to see that answers to life's challenges are in the gospel. See article on page 6.
