Church News: About the cover

Larry W. Sidwell, standing in front of Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson near Charlottesville, Va., served as a tour guide there for three years. As such, he became familiar with the life and politics of America's third president, who pushed for the passage of Virginia's Statute of Religious Freedom.
