Members join interfaith concert

PUEBLO, Colo. — Some 1,500 community members attended an interfaith choir concert March 5 at the fair grounds here which featured many local Latter-day Saints among the performers.

The main portion of the concert was performed by the Common Chords Interfaith Choir, which sang sacred music, such as "I Believe in Christ," a well-known LDS hymn; "Amazing Grace," accompanied by bagpipe music; "America the Beautiful," and "Eli, Eli," sung by the local Jewish cantor. Other groups also performed.

Members contributed in many other ways as well, from serving on the steering committee to helping with equipment. LDS young men directed the parking, helped with collecting donations and cleaning up afterward. Relief Society sisters helped provide refreshments. A large banner, showing the "Christus," with the name of the Church and the words, "Love one another as I have loved you," hung in a prominent place over the heads of the choir.
