Four new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. Here are their names and biographical information:
David Steele and Shirlee Hansen
David Steele Hansen, 64, Australia Sydney South Mission; Barton Creek Ward, Bountiful Utah Central Stake; ward Young Adult adviser and Sunday School gospel doctrine teacher; former high councilor, bishop and counselor, stake mission president's counselor, elders quorum president and counselor, Scoutmaster, missionary in Northern States Mission; owner and chief executive officer of Pacific Service Insurance Agency; studied English at BYU; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harry Eldon and Vivian Brown Hansen; married Shirlee Jean Christofferson; five children. She is a ward Young Adult adviser and Sunday School gospel doctrine teacher; former Young Women adviser, Primary teacher, ward activities committee member, Relief Society teacher, stake Relief Society board member, ward Primary president, YWMIA counselor and teacher, and ward Sunday School secretary; attended BYU; born in Lehi, Utah, to Peter Grant and Jean Fowler Christofferson.
Edson and Marise De Marques
Edson De Marques, 44, Brazil Sao Paulo East Mission; Campinas 4th Ward, Campinas Brazil Stake; stake president; former stake president's counselor, bishop and counselor, elders quorum president and missionary in Brazil Porto Alegre Mission; institute director with Church Educational System; studied business administration at PUC-Campinas; born in Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Jose and Enide Martins De Marques; married Marise Turra; two children. She is a ward Young Women president; former Young Women president's counselor, ward Relief Society president and ward Primary president; born in Canoas, Brazil, to Plinio Meireles Vieira and Iris Maria Turra.
Lynda and James Erwin Sheffield
James Erwin Sheffield, 56, Mississippi Jackson Mission; Golden Ward, Golden Colorado Stake; mission president's counselor; former high councilor, assistant to high priests group leader, bishop, and priests quorum adviser; president of Sheffield Homes Inc.; received MBA from University of Utah; born in Provo, Utah, to Erwin Lowell and Katherine Jane Grow Sheffield; married Lynda Eileen Stone; four children. She is a stake Young Women president, former Relief Society homemaking leader, stake Relief Society president's counselor, ward Young Women president's counselor and Primary teacher; received bachelor's degree in business education from BYU; born in Ontario, Ore., to Max David and Maxine Stone.
Juswan and Aischa Tandiman
Juswan Tandiman, 38, Indonesia Jakarta Mission; Bekasi Branch, Indonesia Jakarta Mission; president of Bekasi Branch, former district president, mission president's counselor, district president's counselor, elders quorum president, high councilor and bishop's counselor; director of Mahalcam Sysprofindo, received bachelor's degree in information systems from BYU; born in Makassar, Indonesia, to Piet Hein and Lan Gin Tjan Tandiman; married Aischa Rohana Leonore Meyer; four children.
