New temple president

Sister Sharon and Elder Loren C. Dunn

Elder Loren C. Dunn, 70, of the Mount Olympus 6th Ward, Salt Lake Mount Olympus Stake, called as president of the new Boston Massachusetts Temple. Elder Dunn's wife, Sharon Longden Dunn, will serve as temple matron. Elder Dunn was called as a General Authority April 6, 1968. He served in the First Council of the Seventy until Oct. 1, 1976, when he was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy. He is a former president of the Australia Sydney Mission and a mission president's counselor. A former executive with an economic development board in Boston, Mass., he graduated from BYU with bachelor's degrees in journalism and economics and received a master's of science from Boston University in public relations. He was born in Tooele, Utah, to Alex F. and Carol Horsfall Dunn. Sister Dunn is a former stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society president's counselor and Laurel adviser. She graduated from the University of Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John and LaRue Carr Longden.
