'Neighbor to neighbor' service

OREGON CITY, Oregon — Members of the Oregon City Oregon Stake joined with members of other churches to give service June 24. The "Neighbor To Neighbor Service Day" focused on helping people in the communities of Colton and Elwood.

Members worked to remodel an old building in Colton that will open as a community center in a few months. They also trimmed trees and shrubs and cleaned the grounds.

Other Latter-day Saints worked with Jim Bever, a member of the Oregon City Oregon Stake high council, to wash, prime and paint a historic schoolhouse in Elwood. A new roof was also put on the school.

Across the street, volunteers cleaned Mountain Home Cemetery. Similar work was done at Bonney Cemetery, also near Colton.
