Martin Harris, one of the three witnesses to the Book of Mormon, died at Clarkston in northern Utah on July 10, 1875.

Brother Harris, according to Essentials in Church History by Joseph Fielding Smith, arrived in Salt Lake City in August of 1870.

The book notes: "He had been absent from the Church since the days of Kirtland; but had never during all those years denied his testimony. He now came back humbly to the Church, and was baptized by Elder Edward Stevenson and confirmed by Elder Orson Pratt."

He was 93 years old at the time of his death.

The book stated, "A few hours before his death he discoursed on the Book of Mormon and reiterated the truth of the visit of the angel and bore testimony to the divine origin of the Book of Mormon."
