Hats are made for the homeless

SANTA CLARA, Ore. — Members of the Santa Clara 3rd Ward, Eugene Oregon Santa Clara Stake, are making hats and more hats. As a fall service project, they have been crocheting hats for the homeless and needy to be handed out when the weather turns cold. Many members have learned to crochet so they could get involved with this project. Some have set as their goal 100 hats. Others are making as many as time permits.

Some yarn has been purchased and donated to those crocheting. Garage sales came in handy; more than 100 skeins were purchased at 25 cents a skein. More than 830 hats are waiting to be distributed to shelters throughout the Oregon Eugene Mission.
