Member youth in Bangkok provide truckload of goods

BANGKOK, Thailand — Some two dozen young men and young women of the Bangkok Thailand Stake, together with their leaders, devoted time and effort in September to a service project aimed at helping children of families living in the poorest part of Bangkok. Stake Young Women president Naphaporn Wattaphat and Phayap Dokthanyond, a member of the stake Young Men presidency, organized and led the project.

The project was timed to coincide with the country's National Youth Day, an annual event in which young people all over Thailand volunteer in various kinds of service projects.

The Church youth collected a large number of children's toys, books, games, shoes, clothing and handmade crafts which they took to an area serviced by the Sikkha Asia Foundation, which works to aid children of poor families living in the Klong Toey neighborhood.

In addition to providing a truckload of goods to be shared with the underprivileged, the youth and several of their leaders fanned out with trash bags to pick up debris to improve the look of the area.
