Sydney B. Sperry Symposium: 'Out of obscurity'

PROVO, Utah — Hundreds of Church members gathered on the BYU campus Sept. 29 and 30 to participate in the 29th annual Sidney B. Sperry Symposium. Sponsored by BYU Religious Education and the Church Educational System, the free symposium featured 42 presenters addressing the topic: "Out of Obscurity: The Church in the 20th Century."

Presenters included faculty members from BYU Religious Education, the LDS Church Educational System, Ricks College and BYU-Hawaii. They addressed topics such as the internationalization of the Church; the Church in Africa, Europe and Brazil; the changing face of the Quorums of the Seventy; the Family Proclamation; the Mormon Tabernacle Choir; and temple construction.
