LDS clean mobile home park

PEORIA, Ariz. — When, due to an emergency, members of a community volunteer group could not participate Oct. 21 in a planned City of Peoria Neighborhood Pride Project, members of the Peoria Arizona and the Peoria Arizona North stakes stepped in.

More than 600 members of the stake worked at the Lake Pleasant Mobile Home Estates, working on 47 lots. The project included trimming more than 70 trees and bushes; painting mobile homes, sheds and carports on 14 lots; repairing and sealing roofs on 14 mobile homes; replacing siding on two homes; spreading more than 20,000 square feet of gravel on lots; removing 350 tons of debris; planting bedding plants and small trees; and other miscellaneous projects. Local Church leaders reported many smiles were seen on volunteers, city staff members and property owners as the project was completed.
